FAQ FOR PARENTS

Childcare that works where you do.

WHAT WE OFFER

Proximity-based childcare, designed around your family.

We embed childcare programs inside commercial buildings, coworking spaces, and corporate offices โ€” so your child is always close by.

01

On-Site in Your Building

No separate drop-off across town. Walk your child downstairs, visit at lunch, and leave together at the end of the day. Proximity means less stress and more time with your family.

02

Small Groups, Real Attention

We keep our groups intentionally small so every child gets individualized, responsive care โ€” not just supervision. Low ratios mean your child is known, seen, and supported.

03

Built for Real Schedules

Full-time, part-time, hybrid โ€” we know your work schedule isn't always predictable. Our enrollment options flex around the way you actually work.

SAFETY & COMPLIANCE

Your child's safety is the foundation of everything we do.

We don't meet the minimum, we are building the standard. Hopscotch is working with the EEC in Massachusetts to build our proximity-based care program from the ground up around the highest standards, because your family deserves nothing less.

๐Ÿ”’

Comprehensive Background Checks

Every caregiver undergoes federal and state background screening, fingerprinting, and sex offender registry checks before ever entering a room with children.

๐Ÿฉบ

CPR & First Aid Certified

All staff maintain current pediatric CPR and first aid certifications with regular refresher training. Our team is prepared to respond โ€” not react.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ

Secure, Controlled Access

Only authorized parents and staff can enter our spaces. Sign-in and sign-out protocols are followed at every drop-off and pick-up, every single day.

๐Ÿงน

Health & Sanitation Standards

Rigorous cleaning schedules, clear illness policies, and detailed health documentation keep the whole group safe and give you full transparency.

๐Ÿ“ฑ

Real-Time Updates

You'll hear from us throughout the day โ€” activities, meals, naps, milestones. You're never in the dark about how your child's day is going.

๐Ÿ

Purpose-Built Spaces

Our environments are designed for children from day one โ€” age-appropriate furnishings, non-toxic materials, anchored furniture, and safety surfacing throughout.

OUR CURRICULUM

Montessori & Reggio Emilia inspired. Built for real children.

Our founder is a Montessori-trained educator, and our curriculum reflects this experience, but with realistic modifications. We have developed a comprehensive, responsive, play-based framework grounded in research and designed to honor how young children actually learn โ€” through exploration, curiosity, and connection.

1

Child-Led Exploration

Caregivers follow each child's natural curiosities, setting up provocations and invitations that spark discovery rather than dictating one-size-fits-all lessons.

2

Sensory & Nature-Based Learning

Water, sand, light tables, natural materials โ€” sensory-rich experiences build neural pathways, fine motor skills, and a genuine love of learning.

3

Language & Literacy

Storytelling circles, labeling the environment, conversation-rich routines โ€” language development is woven into every moment, not confined to a reading block.

4

Social-Emotional Development

Naming feelings, practicing patience, navigating conflict โ€” we coach children through the hardest and most important skills they'll build.

5

Creative Expression

Open-ended art, music, movement, and dramatic play โ€” not craft templates. Children process their world and build confidence through authentic creative work.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

We believe childcare is infrastructure, not a luxury.

When childcare is close, parents are more present at work and more present at home. Proximity changes everything, for families, for employers, and for children.

Hopscotch Labs exists childcare isnโ€™t a one-model fits all industry. Parents shouldn't have to choose between their career and being near their child. Employers shouldn't lose great talent to a childcare crisis. Since 2020 we have been solving the problem of โ€œparent-guiltโ€ by allowing families to stay close throughout the day.

Core Belief

Proximity Matters

Being steps away from your child changes the entire equation of working parenthood. Less guilt, more peace of mind, and a child who feels securely connected to you all day.

Our Approach

Every Child is Capable

We see children as competent, curious human beings โ€” not empty vessels to fill. Our caregivers are guides, not lecturers. We meet every child exactly where they are.

Our Standard

Quality Without Compromise

License-exempt doesn't mean lower standards. It means we've built a smarter model to deliver care. Our staffing, training, curriculum, and safety protocols reflect the highest expectations.

OUR TEAM

Caregivers who are qualified, trained, and chosen with care.

Your child's caregivers are the heartbeat of our program, and as parents, we only hire staff members we would trust with our own children. Over the years we have developed a four-step hiring process to ensure the best quality educators make it to the classroom, and we currently have a staff retention rate of 100% year over year. We donโ€™t just run background checks, we go out of our way to speak with past employers, confirm education and work experience, and run trial days to ensure a warm, loving, and above all safe experience for families.

๐ŸŽ“

ECE Credentials

Lead caregivers hold degrees or certifications in early childhood education, child development, or related fields. We hire for expertise and heart.

๐Ÿ“š

Ongoing Development

Training doesn't stop at orientation. Our team participates in regular professional development โ€” child development research, curriculum planning, trauma-informed care, and inclusive practices.

๐Ÿค

Continuity of Care

Children thrive with consistency. We invest in fair compensation, supportive management, and a culture that values caregivers as the professionals they are โ€” so they stay.

๐Ÿ’ฌ

Relationship-Based Care

Every caregiver is trained in responsive caregiving โ€” reading cues, building trust, creating an emotionally safe space where your child feels seen, heard, and valued.

OUR FAMILIES

Donโ€™t take our word for it, hereโ€™s what our parents are saying

The afternoons I spent working at Blush were always the most focused and productive. Knowing my son was well cared for and just down the hall allowed me to be really present with my job in a way that I couldn't be at home with babysitters. I always felt accomplished in my job and energized to put my 'mom hat' back on after an afternoon at Blush.

Kelsey Hopkins

Director, Solar Energy Industries Association

I have been able to nurse my bottle-rejecting babe, eat lunch with her every day, and snuggle her regularly for naps while also taking on meaningful work projects that further my career. Blush is the village I wish every working mom or dad had available to them.

Danielle Leach

CPA & Finance Director, D Leach Advisory LLC

Blush with its combination of childcare and coworking space has created the ideal environment so that I am not at risk of becoming another statistic among mothers struggling to finish PhDs. I truly believe none of my accomplishments this year would have been possible without the reassurance of childcare I trust.
