FAQs

Where Can I Park?

Hopscotch Labs is located in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of on-street parking.

Durant Street and Vermont Street, along with other surrounding side streets have plenty of parking.

We want to be amazing neighbors to our local families and businesses in the area, so please do not park in the lot across the street or block any resident driveway spaces.

  • Hopscotch Labs is here to help during the core pre-school years. We accept 3 months - 6 years, but are best suited for ages toddlers and early preschool years.

  • During our coworking and play sessions, we have staff there to interact with your children. You as an adult can zone-in and work productively during the session. However, if the need arises, we may come grab you to assist in changing a child - we will be sure to give you a few minutes to get to a good stopping place in your work.

During our Community Play sessions - your child is under your own supervision. You can either be in the space playing with your child, or sitting in our workspace drinking a cup of coffee - as long as you keep an eye on your own littles.

  • Yes! Please feel free to bring snacks and drinks to make your visit more enjoyable. Food and drinks may be consumed in designated areas. Complementary water and coffee will be available in the grown-ups area. Food is not permissible in the children's space.

Water is always encouraged, so feel free to pack a water bottle for your little when they are in our children's area!

We are not an allergen free facility, so please be sure you and your littles can enjoy spaces where guests may bring peanuts and other foods.

  • In an effort to keep our kids mats and studio clean, we ask that all entrants into the playspace remove their shoes! Please also remember to bring socks for everyone - including adults - who will be in the playspace!

  • Because our play space has limited attendance, pre-booking is highly encouraged. Walk-ins are welcome but we cannot guarantee there will be space.

  • Unlike free-for-all play spaces, we have thoughtfully curated play zones. This is to help make your visit both fun and educational.

Our play space is Montessori-inspired and encourages children to play and engage in micro-educational experiences. Session attendance is limited to help families and children have a more calm play experience.

Our staff are all qualified professionals who have experience working with children. They are there to lifeguard and encourage children to explore the space on their own, try new things, and make new friends.

  • Hopscotch Labs has been open in Jamaica Plain, MA through our partnership with Commonwealth Circus Center since October of 2020. We began a partnership with Dedham Legacy Place in July of 2021, and are now opening in West Roxbury.

  • No! We are a small, women- and API owned business started right here in Boston, MA.

  • Yes! For info on booking the space for a private event, please email hello@hopscotch-labs.com

  • We encourage all children to be freshly diapered when they arrive for our children's programming during our sessions. If the need arises, grown-ups are responsible for diapering their own children - but we will give you a 5 minute warning to get to a good stopping point in your work.
